“Isabella”

Chocolate female
approx 11 months old

Hi, I'm Isabella and I'm about 11 months old. I was brought into the program as a younger puppy and have grown into quite a beautiful young lady. I love to play with my other labrador foster siblings but also enjoy being with my foster parents and give them lots of love and affection. I am crate and potty trained and walk very well on a leash. I have a lot of love to give...won't you be my new forever family?

“Betty”

Black female
approx 3 years old

Hi! My name is Betty and I am approximately 3 years old. I was found wandering the streets by a nice lady who rescued me and called Lab Rescue. When I was found I had 10 stitches from my eye to my ear and 4 on the bridge of my nose. I've had a hard life and am looking forward to 'the good life'. I love having the attention of the people around me. I am very much a 'people pleasing' girl. I am crate and potty trained. I love to play ball and frisbee. I am good with children, other dogs, and cats. I like to relax or play, it's up to you. I would make someone a very loyal, loving 'forever friend.' Are you the one for me?

“Chance”

Yellow male
2 years old

Hi! My name is Chance and I am 2 years old. I love to play ball, run, or just lay around. I'm crate trained and potty trained. I'm looking for a home that gives me lots of love, hugs and kisses, and one that doesn't mind slobbery kisses back! I am good with children of all sizes, cats, and other dogs. Could you be my 'forever friend'?

“Sachi”

Black female
11 months old

Sachi is a beautiful little girl (only about 55 lbs) that came to us about a month ago. She is a very active, energetic girl (still has that puppy in her as she's 11 months old!) but is very sweet and so cute when she looks up at you with those big brown eyes! She is crate-trained, and has had no "accidents" in the house at her foster home. She knows the "sit" command and has been walking well on a leash. Her foster mom is working on other basic commands and so far, Sachi has been receptive to learning new things. She is getting along great with her other two foster sisters (they are a little bit smaller than her)—they love to play and chase each other. She loves her toys and has a lot of fun taking them all out of the toy basket before deciding which one to play with. Since she is a young lab with a lot of energy, Sachi would be best suited with a family who will reinforce her training and/or one with older children. Sachi is a great little gal with a lot of love to give—will you be the family she gives it to?

“Pops”

Chocolate male
approx 8 years old

Pops has been given a complete checkup by our vet and given a clean bill of health. He is a bit overweight, and his foster family is working on that with lots of walking, up to 2 miles at a time, and diet. He is housebroken and leash-trained. On his walks he sticks right by the side of his foster unless he spots a rabbit. Then again he is a sporting dog and always seems ready to chase the critter down. Being an older dog he is a gentle soul and loves attention. He knows his basic commands like sit and lie down, but does have a slight problem with "stay" since he must interpret that as "stay with me". Another benefit to this older guy is that he does not chew on things he isn't supposed to. Being a Labrador Retriever he does have a strong sense of play and loves to fetch. His favorite toy right now is a ball, which he loves to retrieve. Pops has been neutered and the vet has informed us that he does not have any thyroid problems. In short, he is a great companion and would do well with a single person or family. He does well with young children over 5 years of age.

“Bailey”

Yellow female
Approx 3 years old

Hi, my name is Bailey and I am such a gorgeous yellow labrador! I am very fit weighing about 65-70 pounds and I'm about 3-4 years old. When I first came into the program a couple of months ago, I am told I was quite a character with all my energy and running around. But, after settling down in my foster home, I learned from my wonderful and patient foster mom that I needed to learn some rules (what? nobody told me anything about that before!). So, now that I have learned how to behave, my foster mom says I am the sweetest girl ever! I play nicely with my two golden retriever foster siblings or maybe I'll just lay quietly at mom's feet while she works on the computer or watches TV. I'm crate and potty-trained so you don't need to worry about that! I'm loving and affectionate and my foster mom says I'm very smart. As the saying goes "I've come a long way, baby"and I'll need a family that will continue to work with me on my training. If you have another large dog and/or older kids, that'd be great, too! Pick me and I know we can make a wonderful and loving family!

“Sam”

Yellow male
2½ years old

Sam (aka "Stubs") is a handsome yellow lab that was rescued from a local shelter. He had a serious tail injury and even though our vet did everything he could to save his tail, it just was not possible. Hence the name, stubs. Stubs loves human companionship and is happiest whenever he can be around people. He is an extremely intelligent dog but it would seem that he has little in the way of training. He is doing well with his house training and his "accidents" are becoming fewer as he progresses. Stubs loves to retrieve and will chase a ball with gusto as long as you are willing to throw it for him. Stubs would probably be best suited in a home with a family that have had large dogs before and are willing to provide him with reinforcement to make sure that his training is seen through. His foster family will continue to work with him as he goes forward in the adoption process and we are sure that he will become a perfect canine companion for some lucky family.

“Blake”

Yellow male
Approx 8½ years old

Meet Mr. Blake. A poor neglected Labrador Retriever rescued from a situation that was literally killing him. When called to take him into our program we were told he had "allergies". The two volunteers who went to look at him had to fight back their tears when they saw the shape he was in. They immediately had his "loving" owners sign him over to us and rushed him to our vet. Blake tested positive for heartworms. He also has untreated demodectic mange on over 80 percent of his body and has lost almost all of his fur. Our vet states that for Blake to be in the shape he is in his mange would have had to have been untreated for years. On top of that he was over 30 pounds underweight. Even with all these problems and the years of neglect, Blake has a fighting spirit and one of the nicest temperaments of any dog we have ever had in our program. Blake has months of extensive vet care ahead of him, but we are confident this "fighter" will pull through and make a full recovery. If you think you would like to open your heart and home to Blake we would encourage you to fill out an application so everything can be all taken care of when he is fully recovered and ready to go to his "forever home". If you would like to make a donation to help offset some of the extensive charges Blake will occur you can click on the "make a donation" button below.

**GREAT NEWS** Blake has been give a clean bill of health by our vet. His mange has been successfully treated and he is starting to get patches of peach fuzz all over his body. He has completed his heartworm treatment and his latest blood test shows him to be free or them. Blake was also neutered during the time that he was being treated for his numerous problems. Tender loving care and proper nutrition has helped him gain almost 40 pounds and get his muscle tone back to where he can now keep up with the other dogs at his foster home. Blake loves to run and play now that he is healthy again and he is an excellent retriever. He will retrieve any ball or throw toy for as long as you are willing to toss it for him. Blake is now looking forward to being placed in a loving "forever" home where he will know what it is to be a spoiled member of the family and live out his remaining days by giving all the love and devotion that he has within in his heart.

“Ginger”

Yellow female
5 years old

Hello! My name is Ginger and I was born in May of 2005. I am a energetic young girl who loves to play ball. I also like to go on walks and I am very good on a leash. I know my basic commands such as sit, stay, down and wait. However, my foster mom does sometimes have to remind me because I sometimes get so excited that my "bum" does not always want to stay down where it belongs. I really enjoy to cuddle and be around people. Car rides are also great fun for me and I am a good girl anytime I get to go. I'm a tall and slender blond and if I were a human I would probably be called a super model. I have a bit of a sensitive stomach but my foster family is feeding me Natural Balance dog food and I am doing well on it. If my new family were to continue this diet I do not think I would have any problems. I also have a very slight bladder problem that is easily controlled by a very inexpensive tablet. As long as I am given my medication on a regular basis I have no problems and my foster family even allows me to sleep in bed with them without any cause for concern. So if you are looking for a tall, slender, blond beauty I am your girl.

“Max”

Yellow male
4 years old

Sir Max is a 4+ year old, good looking, large, papered Yellow Lab. This guy is one of the best trained dogs rescue has seen in a while. He walks well on a leash, sits, lays down, stays, heels, and points. Yes, he points, since attending a 20day hunting school when he was younger. Retrieving is not his favorite game, he would rather show you where the ball is with one foot in the air and a determined stare. Max sleeps the night in a crate and does well during the day if no one is home. For a four year old, Max still has a lot of energy that will have to be channeled through walks, maybe hunting, mental games and playtime. This is no couch potato, and he will get very bored if he is not exercised.

Max learns very quickly, and appears to be quite intelligent. This intelligence comes with an ability to test his owner and the limits of acceptable behavior.

If you are looking for a driven dog, with above average intelligence, and can promise him consistent exercise and be the leader of "the pack", Max maybe your man. Max is not a suitable dog for an inexperienced Lab/dog owner, and although he is not aggressive in anyway, he probably would be best without small children or cats. He loves other dogs and people.
